The most ignorant thing I’ve heard… This week.

February 12th, 2008 by TheCore

I meant to post this the other night, but forgot all about it.

It was very windy here on Sunday, and as a result of that and the persistent dry weather, brush fires were a problem for the whole state. A local news crew was out talking to folks who were affected by the fires, and they approached a man whose home was in imminent danger of burning down that night.

“Are you going to stay home tonight?” the reporter asked.

“Yeah,” said the man, “I figure if God wants me, he can get me no matter where I am.”

That statement is so stupid it literally disgusts me. I can’t even talk about it without getting agitated. If I were the reporter I would have been tempted to punch him in the face.

Way to accept responsibility for your own safety there, Brainiac.

It makes me wonder what other asinine decisions he’s made in his life using the same logic.

(Just by the looks of him, I’d say leaving his dental care up to God was one of them.)

Oh, yes. My little brother said something just as ignorant around Christmas. My jaw just dropped, then I told him to use his f*cking mind and lead his own life. *grumble*

People are…not so surprising sometimes. Of course, some of the people like that guy are the first to ask “WHY???” when their dumb-@sses get burned down. O_o Argh.
