The “Doogie post”

November 28th, 2007 by TheCore

I’ve always thought it would be nice to blog at the end of the day and reflect on what did, or more often didn’t, happen… Just like at the end of every episode of the old Doogie Howser show.

But usually by the end of my day I’m out of the notion.

And most days there’s nothing much worth reflecting on. My constantly running internal monologue usually just doesn’t translate well to the written word. I often think to myself, “a good writer can make anything interesting,” and I’m right, but that writer still has to be interested in what he’s writing, and most of the time I’m not. But of course that would only make sense, since I’m not interested in much of anything.

While I’m thinking of it, I’ve jumped on the social bookmarking bandwagon. I got myself a del.icio.us account and I’ve been posting links fairly regularly. If I’ve set everything up correctly, a daily list of links (as well as my brief comments) should appear on this very blog every morning. I’ll find out if it works soon enough.

About the only other thing worth mentioning is an idle thought I had while I was buying bread today. I’ve started eating whole grain bread lately, and I’m completely bewildered by the variety. 13 Grain, 12 Grain, 7 Grain, etc. Standing there staring at the shelf in the bread aisle, I found myself wondering if it worked like sandpaper, where the higher the number, the finer the grain.

Probably not…
