Finally, all caught up with my photos.

So yes, whenever you see a nice, clean server room on TV or in a movie, that’s a lie. This is what they look like.

    The larger the number of servers, the more likely they get a fancy room like you see on TV. 1-2 servers….probably get stuck under the desk of the resident tech/admin. 4-5 servers probably get a small room/closet.

    20-200 servers get a server room with dedicated A/C and power backup, and SHOULD have periodic air temp surveys to ensure there aren’t dead zones where air doesn’t circulate.

    Yeah, I’ve seen a server room or two in my day. I’ve kinda been doing this whole computer thing a little while :)

    I just meant that unless you have a huge facility like you mentioned, this is what you usually end up with. There’s another room on campus similar to what you describe, but it’s still kind of junky in places.
