I’m no physicist, but…

January 18th, 2007 by TheCore

It’s always funny to me when scientists go around seriously talking about aliens.

Not that there couldn’t be aliens. That’s not what I’m saying.

Just that, if there were such a thing as aliens, it strikes me as incredibly smug for anybody to think they would have any idea whatsoever about their nature or technology.

In layman’s terms, “How the hell do you know?”

I bring this up because apparently aliens haven’t had time to find us yet.

Granted, I’ve watched a lot of science fiction in my time, and I’ll watch a lot more before shuffling off this mortal coil, so my imagination certainly outstrips the laws of physics, but the idea that humanity has enough knowledge to start making informed guesses about aliens…

Well, that just cracks me up.

I guess I fall into the camp that thinks science, and humanity in general, not only has just the smallest fraction of The Answers, but also that we have no idea at all about how much we don’t know.

haha! yes! I was just watching this show “Daily Planet”….it’s Canadian, so I doubt you’ve heard of it. They were mentioning that article…It’s actually kind of a news show, and gives information about the newest technology and crazy gadgets out there. (It’s actually REALLY interesting)…Anyway, they mention this article…and that aliens haven’t had time to find us yet…and the host almost starts cracking up on camera. He kind of gives a goofy smirk while repoting the story, because obviously he can hear how ridiculous he sounds!

Just thought I would share :) Take care!
