“Red light stop, green light go, yellow light go very fast.”

June 8th, 2006 by TheCore

How’s this for an idea:

A GPS unit for your car that’s aware of the status of all the traffic lights in a given area, and once given a route, can keep you updated on whether your next light is red, yellow, or green. This would allow you to adjust your speed gradually and time it so that you hit every light when it’s green. Or, even better, it could tell you the average speed you needed to maintain in order to make the next light when it’s green, thus saving you having to do algebra in your head before you’ve even had your morning coffee.

In practice this would probably cause heinous wrecks and mass hysteria, but I think the basic idea is sound.

As usual, I only ask for a modest cut of the take from anyone willing to capitalize on this idea :)
