Proof of concept

April 4th, 2006 by TheCore

I had the idea some time ago to do a comic strip that basically transcribed some of my ongoing instant messenger conversations with my friend Matt. I have neither the desire nor the talent to draw a comic strip, so the idea was to create the strip completely on the computer and present it as exactly what it is: a stylized IM conversation.

So… months later and I finally got off my ass and did the thing.

Behold, the “pilot episode” of IM!

This particular episode isn’t exactly a gutbuster, IMHO, but it’s basically a test run to get the templates set up and see if the whole thing was worth doing.

Anyway, have a look, and let us know what you think. If we get a good response, we’ll definitely do more.

Edit: And if you like it, then link to it, tell your friends, tell your enemies, spread the word already!

Update: And now we have a domain name! (Note: it might take some time to propagate, so try again later if it doesn’t work. And yes, we’ve sold out already.)

Gotta say, this looks really good. I think this has some Penny Arcade potential, etc. I think y’all should run with it.
