I had a McDonald’s craving for the first time in a couple months last night, so I opted for the drive-through. I paid with a ten dollar bill, and got back a ten dollar bill plus change. I was in a good mood and felt like scoring some positive karma, so I pointed out her error. Not only did she not thank me, she was mildly irritated at having to reopen the register.
I guess it’s true, no good deed goes unpunished.
(This is a prelude to a piece about human nature that I intend to write sometime between now and The End of Days.)
Strange….I thought most cashiers were happy when told of their mistakes - especially when they are held accountable for outages at the end of their shift. Oh well - you tried.
